Summary:

Taylor Edwards’ family might not be the closest-knit—everyone is a little too busy and overscheduled—but for the most part, they get along just fine. Then Taylor’s dad gets devastating news, and her parents decide that the family will spend one last summer all together at their old lake house in the Pocono Mountains.

Crammed into a place much smaller and more rustic than they are used to, they begin to get to know each other again. And Taylor discovers that the people she thought she had left behind haven’t actually gone anywhere. Her former best friend is still around, as is her first boyfriend…and he’s much cuter at seventeen than he was at twelve.

As the summer progresses and the Edwards become more of a family, they’re more aware than ever that they’re battling a ticking clock. Sometimes, though, there is just enough time to get a second chance—with family, with friends, and with love.

My Thoughts:

I’m not sure that I have the right words to correctly review this book. It was about the last 90ish % that I started to cry, and I had to read the rest of the book through tears because I couldn’t stop. For some reason I do love books that make me cry, I have said it a few times in pervious reviews. Now onto the happier part of my review.

Taylor and her family decide to go to there lake house for one last summer. They haven’t been back for 5 years so going back was a little weird for Taylor especially when she runs into her ex Henry and ex bff Lucy and because of the way she left things with them 5 years ago. I did love that they were able to forgive her, and they were able to become friends again. Then comes in Henry the way that they come back together was realistic there wasn’t none of that fake stuff about there relationship which I enjoyed reading. There night on the lake for the Forth of July was so romantic.

The bond that Taylor has with her dad is something special. Every time he would see her, he would say “what’s up kid? What’s the News?” Gahh even writing this I’m getting emotional because I’m thinking of the last part of the book. I think on that note I’m going to leave my review saying, “A thousand moments that I had just taken for granted- mostly because I had assumed that there would be a thousand more.”
