About me

So a little something about me.

Hello, my name is Laura aka Latteandbookz (waves), I am a stay-at-home mom and was homeschooling my daughter who has now decided to go back to school for the last year of high school and is doing fantastic. My daughter isn’t really a reader but now that she’s back in school I may be able to get her to read something. (lol)

Finding a book that evokes strong emotions can be a powerful and cathartic experience for me. If you’re seeking a deeply emotional read like A Thousand Boy Kisses by Tillie Cole, Bright Side by Kim Holden, Taking Chances by Molly McAdams and The Fault in Our Stars by John Green. These are the books that have left me with such a hangover that I still think about them to this day in 2024 and think to myself that I want to read them again, then instantly think no, I can’t do that again lol

I have a 9-year-old female Calico named Zoey, she has a crazy personality and gets zoomies at the most random times. She always finds a way to make me laugh at her crazy antics. I also have a 9-year-old tuxedo cat named Butler who is true to the name, if you’re feeling sad or lonely he will come up to you and give cuddles until you feel better.

I’d love to continue sharing my experiences with fellow book lovers so starting my book account on Instagram opened up a whole new world for me, as I connected with people who shared the same passion for reading the genre’s that I liked. The interactions and discussions about beloved books and characters have enriched my reading getting to meet other peoples favourites. If you’re also a book enthusiast, I invite you to join me on my Instagram journey at Latteandbooks. Let’s delve into the enchanting world of books and swoon together.

Disney has been a significant part of my life, shaping my childhood and now becoming an integral part of how I share magical experiences with my daughter. The storytelling, the characters, the photos and the enchanting worlds created by Disney have always held a special place in my heart and will till the end of time. From classic animated films to amazing theme parks, Disney magic continues to inspire and bring joy to people of all ages at any point in their/your lives. It’s not just about entertainment; it’s about creating cherished memories and sparking imagination within.

My parents say that I’m a coffee enthusiast because of how much I drink and how I make all these different ones with different flavours. I have loved coffee since I was eight, and now I know that is young to some, I have been drinking tea for as long as I can remember and my mom gave me some of hers to try after I had made it. I thought that it was going to be gross but to my surprise it was amazing, it was a Maxwell Hazelnut Powder mix and that was the start of my addiction lol.

If you made it this far then you’re about to get the inside scoop:

Taking some time off from blogging/instagraming was crucial for my mental health. It’s a topic I may or may not delve into through my posts. Honestly, it’s a bit nerve-wracking to consider sharing such personal experiences and thoughts. During my hiatus, I found solace in immersing myself in books, and as a result, I devoured an astonishing number of them. I’m now back and gearing up to share reviews of the books I read during my time away, as well as those I’ve recently read. I hope you like your stay and enjoy my reviews.
