Summary:
Secrets.
Everyone has one.
Some are bigger than others.
And when secrets are revealed,
Some will heal you …
And some will end you.
Kate Sedgwick’s life has been anything but typical. She’s endured hardship and tragedy, but throughout it all she remains happy and optimistic (there’s a reason her best friend Gus calls her Bright Side). Kate is strong-willed, funny, smart, and musically gifted. She’s also never believed in love. So when Kate leaves San Diego to attend college in the small town of Grant, Minnesota, the last thing she expects is to fall in love with Keller Banks.
They both feel it.
But they each have a reason to fight it.
They each have a secret.
And when secrets are revealed,
Some will heal you …
And some will end you.
My Thoughts:
5+ Do Epic Stars.
This book completely wrecked me.
I had this one on my tbr for a while because I knew that it was an emotional read but I didn’t think it would be as bad as it was. Then I noticed that it was free on kindle unlimited, so I thought why not?
I don’t want to spoil the book for anyone that will read this, so I’m going to be carful on what I say.
This book follows Kate and she is such an amazing heroine. She’s positive and doesn’t take shit from anyone. No matter what she goes through she always looks on bright side. She funny she made me laugh many times.
Kate’s friends Shelly, Clayton, Pete, Duncan, Keller and of course Gus, they all made Kate a better person. Gus was friends with Kate since they were kids. They had a very special relationship they always said that they loved one another.
When Keller an Kate first meet you can tell that there was going to be an amazing relationship between the two. it was a fast burn love, but it fit the story perfectly.
I love emotional reads, I love to be able to cry during a book. But this one was something more, it makes you sit there an think about what you had just read. The last 90% is what got to me. There were some parts before that I could have cried at, but I knew there was something coming so I just held it back.
I am obsessed with coffee an I loved that I finally found character that loves it just as much as I do.
What did I take away from this book?
Learned that you need to live in the moment and don’t dwell on the past or the present and just live. Not to worry about what Is going to happen the next day, week, or year. If your going to do that then you’re not living.
As Kate says you need to Do Epic and be brave.
