Summary:

I came to the city with a modeling dream; they had said if I make it here I’ll make it anywhere. Only I’m hard of hearing, and the designers don’t think there’s room for me on the runways.

A night at a bar.

A stolen purse.

I didn’t expect anyone to come to my rescue, but there he was, he’d come with a gorgeous smile and without a doubt, I knew I was in for some trouble.

He went right; I went left.

Lies and secrets kept us apart.

The lights are blinding, who knows what will become of us…

My Thoughts:

Maria La Serra is a new author to me, I sort of knew what to expect because I have read one other book like this before it was Tone deaf by Olivia Rivers

I loved Mable its such a unique name you don’t really see it now a day. Mable has a dream of becoming a model. Her first agent that she had dropped her and she wanted to give up because she didn’t really fit into the mold of a model. She is a strong woman and she wants to change the way that the model industry is. That was until she met Simon.

Simon is a photographer who like to keep to himself. I think that he was able to bring this natural beauty out of Mable and I loved that.

Mable and Simon have a instant connection but they don’t act on there feelings right away. The story blended together well. There were many emotions that I had reading this book. I laughed and cried a few times I also got angry at some.

I think this is a must read because I haven’t found many like it. If you know of any then please let me know because I would love to read it.

Summary:

Teenager Cason Martin is the youngest ballerina in the Atlanta Ballet Conservatory. She never really had a choice of whether she learned to dance or not. Her mother, the conservatory’s artistic director, has made all the decisions in Cason’s life. But that’s about to change. Cason has been hiding an injury, and it’s much worse than anyone imagines.

Davis Channing understands all too well what it’s like to give up control of your life. He’s survived cancer, but his drug addiction nearly killed him. Now he’s been sober for seven months and enjoying his community service at the hospital. But just when he thinks he’s got it together, Davis’s ex-girlfriend, who is still battling her addiction, barrels back into his life.

Cason and Davis are not friends. But, as their worlds collide, they will start to depend on one another. Can they both be brave enough to beat the odds?

My Thoughts: Okie first off, the cover to this is stunning. Its one of the most beautiful ones that I have seen in a while. The book follows Cason and Davies as the main character their stories are remarkable. Cason is a ballerina that gets diagnosed with Bone Cancer, and Davies is the one that is a cancer survivor and also recovering from an addiction to drugs.  Being in the heads of both of these two people an getting to see how they are with having cancer and dealing with addiction was amazing. We get to see Cason’s life as a high school student and her love of dance. She is a ballerina that is preparing for her audition for the American Ballet Theater. She only wants to dance and doesn’t have time for anything else. She’s not going to let the pain in her knee stop since she thinks is just a sprain. When she does find out what it truly is it changes everything. Davis is one of the lucky ones that was able to conquer cancer, but now he has a different type of problem. He has an addiction. He has to do community service at the hospital that he got treaded at a few years ago. Davis has an ex-girlfriend who I found to be rather annoying because she would always come at the worst times for Davis asking for help/money.  Cason is getting chemo at the hospital where Davis is doing his community service and when they meet you can tell there is an instant connection. Even with the both of them having their own stories they still find love in one another, aside from one another knowing what the other is going through. Kati wrote an outstanding book. I’m surprised that this was her debut book. I can’t wait to see what other works she has up her sleeve. I was able to connect and feel for these characters and you don’t always have that happen with this type of book. At the end of the book we get to know that this was something that actually happened to Kati just as Cason. Finding that out blew me away. With this book being one that deals with cancer/depression it may not be a book for everyone.

Summary:

My dad always said you can’t run away from your problems, but I’m sure as hell going to try. And where do you go when you’re trying to escape life? You go to Europe. Or Scandinavia to be exact, because Scandinavia does have the hottest guys. Have you seen Thor? I’ve got my bucket list and I’m ready to live life to the fullest. Go abroad where no one knows my past? Check. See the sites? Check. Hook up with a Scandinavian Hottie? Check.

Despite the threat of my past hanging over my head, everything is going great…until Scandinavian Hottie wants to get serious. It was never my intention to take things to the next level. After all, I don’t want to hurt him when he finds out the truth. However, the more time we spend together, the harder I fall, and in the end I’m not sure if it’s his heart or mine that’s going to end up broken

My Thoughts: After reading The Fault in Our Stars I got a new approbation for books that had dealt with cancer. When I noticed that this book was on Netgalley I wanted to read it.  Hope is a 19-year-old that has terminal cancer, I don’t think it says what one she has. (could be wrong) and she has finally come to terms with it because the medication wasn’t helping.  She finally convinces her mom that she wants to go to Scandinavia for a for a few weeks she wants to see where her dad was from, She also wants to be able to get a few things off of her bucket list. While she’s in Copenhagen, Hope begins to make friends, but they don’t know that she’s ill. While she’s there she becomes friends with a guy name Christian and I found them to be really likeable. There completely different people and because of that they make the perfect couple. Christian is a guy that is caring, understanding and a romantic. I loved how he was with Hope.  While reading this I did got a feeling that it was like A Walk to Remember and The Fault in Our Stars. If you loved those books then you will love this one too.  I loved that there was a HEA because a book with cancer it can go either way. At the end of the book there is an author note and she says that there’s going to be 2 more books. I can’t wait to read those. *I received this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. *

Summary:

All Daisy Goldsmith wants is to get out of her small town, leaving behind the bullies who’ve taunted her. Attending culinary school in New York has always been her biggest dream—a dream she’s not confident enough to pursue. After all, she’s nothing but a “fat cow.” But when her brother’s best friend, the man who’s always secretly held her heart, moves back to town after college, everything changes for Daisy.

One scrumptious nibble…

The Goldsmith house has always been Jon Roberts’ sanctuary from the crazy of his life. With a broken and dysfunctional family, Jon embraces the Goldsmiths like his own. After getting a real glimpse of the woman Daisy’s becoming, Jon is torn between his loyalty to the family and his desire for his best friend’s little sister.

One delectable bite…

As Daisy and Jon spend more time together, they can’t resist the attraction between them. Once they’ve had a taste, nothing can keep them apart–not their dreams, their families, or the difference in their age. Can someday turn into forever or will they bite off more than they can handle?

My Thoughts:

This is my first book that I have read by Laura ward and I enjoyed it. This is the third book in the series and feel like it can be read as a standalone. Considering I haven’t read the first two books. I’m going to have to go back and read them.

Daisy has a passion for cooking. She wants to be able to go to culinary school, there’s one downside though. Her parents don’t want her to go because they think that she’s to young. So, in trying to convince her parents that she I ready to go she stays home for a year in hopes to prove to them that she’s more than capable.  Jon is someone that is off limits to Daisy because he is her big brothers best friend they all grew up together. Daisy as also had a crush on Jon forever. When they become more than friends because of a deal that they make.  I was happy because then they could finally be together and their feelings only become more intense and I loved every minute if it. Something happened with Jon’s family and he movies into Daisy’s parents and there relationship becomes more special.

All in all I think that this is a great book and I need to go an read the first two in this series.

Summary:
Bishop Royal is a sleaze. He’s a cheat, a copycat, a bastard. He knows what you think of him and he doesn’t care. All he cares about is his best friend, Jake.

Jake Ellis has loved Bishop Royal for sixteen years. He’s been by his side through everything: deaths, hardships, and triumphs.

When Bishop’s life is pulled out from underneath him, he figures with nothing left to lose, it’s time to tell Jake how he feels.

Under pressure to be the picture-perfect boyfriend and his father’s perfect son, will Bishop fold or go after the only thing he’s ever truly wanted?

My Thoughts:

This is the first time that I have read a book by Megan and I loved it. This is also the first time that I have read a MM romance book an I don’t think that it could have gotten any better. I was a little sad that I was able to read this book on one sitting. I wish that I made it last longer. This book was more about Bishop than Jake. Which I was fine with.  Bishop he is always trying to get his fathers approval when really, I can understand but at some point, no. Bishops dad is a jerk to say the least. Bishop also deals with sex, drugs and alcohol when his life gets flipped upside down. He gets fired from his BMX team among other things. To see him fall a get back up again was truly heartbreaking.  Jake and Bishop I enjoyed how there friendship turned into a romantic relationship.  All in all, I enjoyed this quick read. If you’re into MM books then I say you should defiantly pick this one up. With this book being the 5th in the series I was a little worried that maybe I might be missing something but I didn’t feel like that and I loved that. Because sometimes reading a book in the middle of the series you can get a little confused.
