This Christmas, I’d better not fall in love with my brother’s best friend… again.A long time ago I fell in love with my brother’s best friend, Heath. We kept our relationship a secret, knowing my brother would never approve. I had faith that in time we would come clean and declare our love to the world, but Heath broke things off before that could ever happen. I fled from my hometown and vowed never to return.

Now I’ve inherited my grandmother’s Inn and I have no choice but to go back. It’s not as simple as just selling the property, it needs to be renovated first. When the realtor said he knew just the guy, I never suspected it would be Heath. The moment he steps back into my life, I can’t deny that the attraction is even greater than it was all those years ago.

While renovating the Inn, Heath is determined to remind me of everything I loved about my grandmother’s property and his family’s Christmas tree farm. Nothing has ever felt more like home, than when I’m with Heath. Could these feelings be real or is it the magic of the holidays fooling me into falling in love with Heath again?

This was a beautiful second chance at romance with Heath and Marley, who had dated in secret back in high school but broke up when things got to be too much for Heath. They went to separate ways and Marley went away to college because she was completely devastated and never wanted to look back. 10 years have passed, and Marley needs to return home due to a passing in the family. When she bumps into Heath again when she gets back to town, Heath is just as attracted to her as he was all those years ago, he feels bad about how things ended with Marley and wants to make things right and to get there they had some struggles, When Heath asked Marley to stay a little bit longer shocked me in the best way because I knew then that Heath was going to do whatever it took to win her back. The title of the book truly fits the story perfectly.

[New Post] Books That I Wasn’t a Fan Of In 2023

These are books that just fell flat to me, I wasn’t able to connect to the story/characters and some were a DNF and various points of the story.

1. Half Truths: Now by Elena M. Reyes

I wasn’t able to get past 65% in this one.

2. And Clouds Passed Above by Thomas Van Der Hof

For me, the synopsis and the actual story were completely different.

3. Confessions of a Christmasholic by Joss Wood

This wasn’t the RH that I thought it was going to be.

4. Sincerely Yours, Anna Sherwood by Beth Reekles

This was a book that was like The Office.

5. Filthy Rich Vampire by Geneva Lee Albin

I wasn’t able to get past a certain part of the book because it was kind of a snooze.

My momma used to say, “Out of every tragedy, a miracle of love would come.” The last ten years of my life have been nothing but tears and pain. I lost hope and wanted to give up on waiting for my miracle to come. Finally, a light is shining at the end of the tunnel. After leaving Texas and my past behind, I’ve started a new life journey in Estes Park, Colorado. I have a second chance and don’t plan to waste it. I found work as a live-in nanny for a darling little girl named Hadley. Her father, Aiden, is a single dad with a troubled past he is desperately trying to move on from. When I find myself drawn to Aiden in a way I’ve never experienced before, I long to help him see what a wonderful father he is. But Aiden’s past keeps him from forgiving himself and moving on with his life. If I can help save him from a dark road of torment, my journey will have been worth it. My name is Emma, and this is my story. Love alone, sometimes isn’t enough.

Author Kelly Elliot has gone under a new pen name, so I knew had to get this book because Kelly writes fantastic stories. Aiden never thought that he would be able to find love again but with an accidental bump into Emma he gets that spark of hope that maybe I can fall in love again? So, he hires Emma to take care of his daughter. As Aiden watches his daughter with Emma, he starts to see that she has never been happier so it could be possible for him too? Following these two and seeing all the trials and tribulations they had gone through to get where they are now was an emotional journey that felt real. I’m beyond excited to see what other books are going to be coming our way this year.

In a tale of mystery, there’s a choice that reaches to a past that’s been missing for a boy who sees a world of faraway tales and present secrets. Until now as a young man, he finds a task set before him by the enigmatic figure of his grandfather. On a journey that leads away from his small village on a quiet fiord, to forgotten routes high among mountain passes and their towering cities, across ancient desert lands and the lingering echoes of lost kingdoms, to a city in the clouds and its riddle for a few who are drawn within. And to many other wonderful and desolate places until his destination is at last reached on a hidden and secret island, in the completion of his grandfather’s request.

Along this winding path he finds what things are within life – of fears and love, friendship and ambition, adventure and creativity, spirituality and darkness, sorrow and regret. And a choice, in a moment that comes to each. Reminiscent of a present-day fairytale, And Clouds Passed Above shares thematic similarities with magical realism and The Alchemist, 1Q84 and Life of Pi. Where each place is part of a choice in how to spend a life, and whether something else may lie beyond. With a contemplative pace, at its heart is the way the world seems as a child, the way each moment and experience has a feeling and texture, magic and mystery, and wondering if this might stay each day, waiting to be rediscovered.

This book just wasn’t for me, I like the synopsis of the story but while reading I found myself bored nothing exciting was happening.

Spade. People know what to expect when they hear my last name.

Billionaire. Alphahole. The forever bachelor. Heir to Spade Hotels, one of the most luxurious brands in the world.

Want to know what they would never call me?

Boyfriend.

Until her.

With one glance at her in the club, I’m ready to claim her for the night.

Dark, flowing hair. A smile that causes my heart to pound. Eyes that pierce my soul. And a perfect body that makes every part of me pulse.

She’s addictive. Electrifying. Consuming.

I’ve never wanted anyone more.

Our eyes meet, but she looks right past me. She isn’t here for me. She’s here for the music.

For the first time in my life, a woman makes me work for it. Her indifference fuels the fire inside me.

The result? One night. No names. No introductions.

Just pleasure.

The way I’ve always liked it.

But now, I find myself fantasizing about this gorgeous stranger, and I swear I can still feel the softness of her skin and taste her on my lips.

The minute I saw her, a switch flipped inside me. Now, how do I stop this raging … obsession?

When our paths cross again in the most unexpected way, I’m on a mission to make her mine. But what happens when she wants nothing to do with me?

A sizzling grumpy-sunshine, boy-obsessed, one-night-stand romance.

I have read a few books by this author and when I found out there was another series coming out, I wanted to check it out. Macon is a billionaire who spends a night with a woman and instantly knows that he needs more of Brooklyn in his life. These two have the passion the witty banter the chemistry and more.
