Everyone knows that if there was an award for biggest small town grump, Liam Ashton would win for Hope Crest, Pennsylvania no questions asked.

The reclusive, brooding farmer might be part of the family business and do anything for those closest to him, but his bark keeps almost everyone else away. Perhaps that’s what happens when you fall in love at first sight but aren’t allowed to be with the soulmate you didn’t realize you were looking for.

When the forbidden woman of his dreams blows back into town, he might finally get a shot to convince her they’re destined to be together. Only, her denials and refusals won’t let him get anywhere near her.

Gabrielle Murphy swore she’d never return to the town where she took her first teaching job. She’d done the right thing, once upon a time, and there is no room to question what if.

But when the only woman who ever understood her passes and leaves her to clean up the pieces, she can’t exactly say no. Get in, fulfill her grandmother’s wishes, and get out. That’s the plan. Until Liam confronts her and they give in to the unmatched inferno that’s been blazing between them forever.

Even though there is nothing standing in the way of a happily ever after this time, Gabrielle still can’t let this surly version of the Liam she once knew love her completely.

Until a surprise binds them to each other for the foreseeable future, and they have to forgive enough to move forward. But just as the ice around their hearts starts to thaw, darker outside forces threaten to ruin their chance before it’s even taken.

Gabrielle and Liam have a difficult time navigating their relationship being a taboo subject to some starting as a student teacher relationship and knowing that it wasn’t going to work out Gabrielle goes as far as moving away after graduation which seems a little drastic but the reasoning behind it is justifiable. Years later when Gabrielle returned home to take care of some business for her grandma. They bump into one another Gabrielle still denies her feelings for Liam and he still has some anger in the way that she left. When Liam sees Gabrielle for the first time, he is certain that she is the one for him, Liam can break down her walls and is able to show her that she truly is the one that he loves. Gabrielle and Liam have an emotional journey with a twist that I couldn’t get enough of.

After my divorce, I decide to move across the country away from family and friends for a new start.

What I don’t expect is him.

He’s only supposed to be a one-night stand, but fate has other plans.

The next time I see him it’s because I’m on a date with his dad.

I’ve always believed in wishing on elevens, but this time I get a little more than I bargained for by falling for a guy eleven years younger than me.

Reid is everything I shouldn’t want and everything I need.

The question is, am I willing to open my heart up to him? Or am I doomed to let my past hold me back?

This is an age gap where the female is the older one which you don’t see too often It is more the male is older but that doesn’t change the story. Via and Reid have a deep connection and chemistry like no other, they have fantastic banter. When they first meet Reid wants to date right away but with Via being older and newly divorced, she is a little scared to date again because of her ex, age and some personal reasons. When Via comes to terms and realizes that she has feelings for Reid the story adds an extra element of the story feeling real. After reading this and seeing these two navigate their relationship was raw and real, I can’t wait to see who is next. If you’re looking for a cinnamon roll guy then read is the guy you’re looking for.

I knew him only as Van Gogh.
A tortured artist who owned the night as he moved through the shadows, cloaked in hate and madness.
He was a vicious vigilante—a serial arsonist who thrived on the fear he triggered with a single match between his tattooed knuckles.
We were told to lock our doors and stay inside.
I wanted to. I really did.
But then I saw his eyes, burning like embers as he watched me through the smoke.
And like the flames at his feet, I delighted in his attention.
I became his muse.
His passion.
His obsession.
His perfectly flawed flower.
But that was years ago.
Before my seaside town became his canvas…

Before the ashes of my enemies became his paint…
Before he hated me… and made me his wife.

Kristy is one of my favourite authors and she has written some men that are out of this world, Theo being my favourite of hers and there being some men that have come close to Theo, but I have to say that I think that Van is my new favourite. The chemistry that he has with Reese is unmatched to others, the banter was fantastic with laugh out loud moments. I was glued to this book from start to finish. This is the first in a new series and she has dethroned Theo, who else is she going to be introducing us too, I just know that I can’t wait to meet them.

Demi Crawford was Magnolia Falls royalty.
I was the boxer from the wrong side of the tracks.
She was the epitome of everything good, while I was broody and rebellious.
We couldn’t be more different.
Her family was enemy number one which made her guilty by association.
I despised her before I even knew her.
It was easier that way.
But now she’d moved in next door to me, and she was everywhere I turned.
I couldn’t avoid her no matter how hard I tried.
She was beautiful and honest and sweet.
Everything I knew I shouldn’t want.
Shouldn’t need.

They say there’s a fine line between love and hate—and I don’t know when I crossed over.
I was so wrapped up in this girl I couldn’t see straight.
She was the right hook I never saw coming.
Hating her was supposed to be my end game.
Loving her… well, that was just the beginning.
But the secrets that lived between us threatened to tear us apart.
Lucky for her—I was a born fighter.
And she was definitely worth the fight.

Romeo is a boxer and small town gym owner and Demi is next door to him opening her own coffee shop. Being new neighbours Romeo already doesn’t like Demi because of her family and the past they have. With seeing her all the time he starts to realize that Demi had nothing to do with the past and just wants to truly know him, from then on, they have a wonderful chemistry that just grows from when they first meet. One of the things that I enjoyed about this was that Romeo was the one to fall first and he’s the sweetest he’s not a grump at all. Demi is one of my favourite characters with how strong and independent she is despite her family. This book got me feeling all warm an fussy, I cant wait to see who the next in the series is going to be.

For the record, I knew I never should have touched her.
She was everything good in this world and I was everything but.
I was too broken to care about how off limits my best friends’ cousin was.
But I didn’t know how to stop.
She was the air I needed while drowning in darkness.
Until I broke her heart and finally forced myself to do the right thing and walk away.
Six years later she’s on my doorstep asking me for a favor I can’t say no to.

Only a marriage of convenience to Georgia Monroe is anything but convenient.
Not with how I still crave her despite the promises I made to never touch her again.
Not with the dangers lurking around us, coming after her in ways she knows nothing about.
I’m the only one who can help her.
Her dark knight. A silent hacker.
The cold, broody man who never felt worthy of her love.
But now everything is different.
I’ll do whatever it takes to keep her safe and prove I deserve a second chance at owning this irresistibly dangerous woman’s heart.
No matter what comes my way.

After reading the books in the series, I have to say that the best was saved for last. Lenox and Georgia have a special connection, Georgia gets her heart broken bad by Lenox but when she appears that she is sitting in his living room when he gets home, he wants to help her in any way that he can even marriage? but also show that he’s sorry for how things ended previously. Lenox and Georgia have a lot they need to work through with the past and the present, their able to weave and reconnect when they both secretly need help.
