Summary:

Kate McGuire has loved her brother’s best friend for years—an older guy who didn’t know she existed and whose smoking-hot girlfriend could punch her into next week. But now Kate’s eighteen and Quinn Haley is girlfriend-free and looking at her like she’s definitely outside the friend zone. Everything is working out perfectly—until a devastating medical diagnosis throws her life into a tailspin.

Quinn Haley has dealt with abuse and rejection his entire life, but when he finally breaks up with his cheating girlfriend while home from college for Christmas, he realizes his best friend’s little sister has always been there for him. Only now, Kate’s all grown up and frankly adorable. Definitely not someone he wants to keep in the friend zone.

Kate’s entire future will be a lifetime of no. No children. No sex. No Quinn. And when Quinn won’t take no for an answer, she fights him every step of the way.

All the way into love

My Thoughts:

I’m not sure why but I love to read books that have medical issues involved, this book on the other had left me wanting a little more. When I first read the synopsis of the book it was a little vague, but I was still interested.

Kate is 18 when she finds out that she has MRKH which stands for Mayer-Rokitansky-Küster-Hauser. When I first read that I thought that it was interesting because I have head of people having the condition, but I have never known what it was called. The fact that it’s not rare there are one in 5000 girls that are born with it, it kinda blows my mind.

I loved how this book follows her journey on how she copes with having this condition and dealing with a relationship and still having a scene of humor with it all.

Summary:

I love the peculiar silence of shadows. They exist, but leave no mark.”

Zeph had been a child, thrust into a war that wasn’t his. When he was older, he discovered he had landed on the wrong side of everything.

He’d been fighting for sweet revenge, because of lies he’d believed—and those lies proved to be his ruin. Falling into despair, Zeph decides living is too painful. So, he writes his final act with poison and chooses to end his story.

But Fate has other plans for Zeph and when he finds himself in the hands of his enemies, he has to decide: Does he want to live? Or does he want to die?

Or maybe that choice is no longer his to make.

Ruled by shadows and armed with secrets he never intended to share, Zeph will be put through his toughest battle yet: the war within himself.

“He isn’t a lost cause. He’s just—lost.”

That’s what Arwyn believes. She sees the monster he has become, but what she also sees is someone worth fighting for. Armed with secrets of her own, she’s determined to help Zeph fight his demons, because there was more on the line than Zeph’s soul. So much more.

Revenge may be sweet. But redemption is sweeter. The question is, can Zeph find the boy he used to be, or will he always believe that no one could ever love—a monster like him.

“You are everything good. And I am everything children are afraid of.”

**CAUTION**Contains a brief descriptive scene of childhood rape.

My Thoughts:

Oh my. This book was so beautiful. I didn’t think that this series could get any better than the first one.

Zaph’s story to redemption was truly compelling. He has some things that he is dealing with. I don’t want to say what they are because that will be giving way too much of the story. I will say that I did enjoy how his character developed.

One of the things that I did love about this story was the relationship that Zeph had with Arwyn. I liked seeing all the characters that were in the first book come into this one.

I enjoyed how the book ended, I don’t know if there is going to be a third book or how the third book would happen, but I would like to see these characters again.

Summary:

Tormented rock star Liam O’Reilly left Dublin and achieved success, hoping to build a new life, free from the demons of his past. Now that seems he’s got everything he ever wanted, why isn’t he happy? Is it because he’s realized that the most important thing in his life is the promise that he never kept?

Sensitive and damaged Rain O’Donovan lives with her brother and his friends in a tiny seaside town north of Dublin. Once a popular and lively schoolteacher, a car accident has wrecked her life, so that her only pleasure is walking in the rain, and her world revolves around mundane tasks, devoid of hope for the future. The amnesia around the time of the accident that changed everything means that her struggle with life is a day-to-day torture, and, more than anything else, she longs for answers.

When Liam returns to his home town after his two-year absence, he’s determined to try to make amends for the terrible mistakes he made. But is it too late to put things right?

Rainy Days is a complete standalone and a part of the Four Days Series.

My Thoughts:

Oh my gosh! What an emotional roller coaster that was. I’m not even sure I can articulate the words that need to be said in my review.

*Some Spoilers Ahead*

My heart broke so much for Liam and Rain. They have been through so much together, with the car accident, Neil dying and Rains memory loss.

The thing that got me the most was that even after everything that had happened Rain was still able to remember her love for Liam.

Liam had his success as a solo musician yet he is broken. There was always a piece missing and he had to get to get it back. He goes back home because he needs to make amends for the things that has happened.

Rain was an amazing leading lady. My heart broke more than once reading her POV. After the accident she was unable to go back to work so she gets a job at her brothers bar Only4You, since she now has limitations on what she can do. Having amnesia isn’t helping her either. When she starts to get her memory back piece by piece I was excited an happy to known she was getting her memory, then it all happened at once and it was heart breaking. Especially when she confronted her brother and his friends.

Liam and Rain are both broken yes but the way they piece one another back together was truly heart warming.

Summary:

Water. The place where I feel at peace.
Free from the expectations. Away from the judgement. Weightless from the obligations.

When I slip under the cool surface, I’m no longer sinking from the demands of family, school and the choices that I must make. Chase my dream of the Olympics or follow the expected career path? What will it be?

I’m not usually one to rock the boat – that’s my twin sister’s role. I find myself in uncharted territory when I meet Jett Decker on my twenty-first birthday. It’s not like me to get swept off my feet, but when I do, it creates waves with those closest to us.

Chemistry ignites, jealousy spikes and tension builds the more we’re together. Sometimes in real life the lines between what is wanted and what must be done get blurred. Not everything is crystal clear, like the line below.

My Thoughts:

This is the first book that I have read by this author and I have to say I enjoyed it.

Shay loves the water, she lives for swimming. Being in the water she feels like she’s at home. She is also a strong, smart and determined lead.

Jett is a track runner and he is a good match for Shay. I found that he was down to earth and focused on what he wanted in life. He was very supportive of Shay in everything that she did.

The relationship with Shay and Jett was instant but yet it had a bitter sweet side to it, which I liked.

Shay has a twin named Kick and her story is next in the series, I’m interested to see where it goes.
