A love controlled by guilt, contained by rules… One summer will change everything.
No kissing.
No cuddling.
No blah, blah, blah.
He wrote the rules onto our skin—every ink stroke tragically smeared by the lines we’d crossed.
He claimed it was the only way we could be together—the only way we wouldn’t destroy our families.
But there was an exception to his rules—one he never saw coming.
All I needed was opportunity and a sunburn.
The girl who played by his rules is gone.
This girl… is not his “friend.”

Omg I’m a mess after this reading a Kristy book I knew that it was bound to happen, I don’t even know if there are words to say what I want to say about this. The last say 50 percent of the book just gutted me. I don’t know how Kristy was able to write this book. I cried so damn much reading this. I loved it.
Bennet and Aspen are best friends to lovers. There connection was just flying off the pages as I read from when they were younger to now, they have only grown closer over that time and I can’t get enough. This is definitely in the top 2021 list of the year.
Also seeing Theo as a dad was phenomenal to read, I absolutely love him was so nice to see him again.
