He was all business until he fell head over tool belt for the sexy, single mom.

I’m not bitter that Savannah St. James rejected me in high school. It’s her cluttered storefront I have a problem with. Still, it’s hard to stay mad at her when she’s more beautiful than I remember and her son keeps finding new ways to sneak over to my hardware store every chance he gets.

While I admit he needs a male figure in his life, I’m the wrong guy for the job. Despite my reluctance, the little guy brings us together even as our pasts keep us apart.

I’m falling deeper for this woman, and the more I get to know Savannah, the more I realize I may have misjudged her. Maybe we can get a second chance after all.

This was a beautiful friend to lovers/single parent/small-town romance which are all tropes that I absolutely love.
Savannah is a single mother to her son and works/runs her mom’s gift shop and lives in the small apartment above. She finds out that the building had recently been sold to a new owner and was worried that her rent would be increased or possibly get kicked out. Ethan just happened to be the guy that she tutored in high school. Ethan is back in town to help his mom and younger sister. When he sees that Savannah is a tenant in the building, he couldn’t believe it. He has had a crush on her since high school, and seeing her again brought back some memories. Will he be able to hold back his feelings?
I adored Ethan and the bond that he had built with Savanah’s son Miles. That was something special. This was filled with all the feels, I laughed at some, cried at others. Ethan is a book boyfriend for sure.
