Summary:

Growing up, Ramsey Stewart branded my soul in ways time could never heal.

At twelve, he asked me to be his girlfriend.
At thirteen, he gave me my first kiss.
By sixteen, we’d fallen in love, planned a future together, and had our eyes set on the horizon.

Love never fails, right?
But for Ramsey, it did.
Love failed him.
I failed him.
The entire world failed him.

At seventeen, Ramsey was convicted of killing the boy who assaulted me.

Move on, he wrote in his first and only letter from prison.
Start a new life, he urged.
I don’t love you anymore, he lied.

There was no such thing as giving up on Ramsey. Love may have been our curse, but he was mine—then, now, and forever.

So here I am, twelve long years later, waiting for a man I don’t even know to emerge from between the chain link gates.

My Thoughts:

This is the first book that I have read by this author and wow, just wow. I can’t even put into words how much I enjoyed it. Even thought I’m going to try and write a coherent review because my feelings are all over the place.

This was a slow burn romance which I really enjoyed because to change it up for the past few books that I have read. It’s told in both the main characters POV

Ramsey and Thea are dare I say soulmates from the age of 10? They both shared all of there firsts together and it was sweet to read. They have many ups and downs though their story and some of the things that they went through I don’t think I could have personally. The way that they meet I think is cute because they both meet at a tree that Thea ends up going to because she is dealing with the passing of her mother. While there she meets Ramsey, who is stuck up in the tree. When Thea gets down, she breaks her leg and says bye to her summer break, and that’s how their love story begins.

One of the things that I’m still not over is the plot twist that happened. I knew that something was coming but I had no idea that it would be what it was. I’m still blown away by it.If you are in the mood to read a book that will play with all your emotions and filled with deception and lies and the true meaning of love, then this is the book for you.
