Summary:

Lies. Betrayal. Two hearts broken. One on the path of revenge. The other finding their way.
HOPE
Make it out alive.
That was my only goal.
I succeeded.
But that doesn’t mean I’m ready to face the world.
Until Leo…
He’s shown me there is hope.
I can find happiness again.
There is a way.
LEO
They thought they broke me.
All they did was create a monster.
One who now has all the power.
Revenge is sweet, but it’s even better when it’s sought justly.
When all is said and done, they will answer for what they did to me, and to Hope.

Can two broken and battered hearts find refuge in each other, or are some wounds too deep to heal?

My Thoughts:

Pavan Kaur is a new author to me, and this book was amazing.

I was completely drawn into the book from the very beginning with how raw this book was. Leo and Hope are amazing together. They have been through so much an it’s crazy.  To see them grow because of the things that have happened and come out the other side was wonderful. Fate is what brings them together.

Hope and Leo’s story broke my heart, I couldn’t imagine going through the things that they went through. I’m glad that she had Leo. The fact they went through similar things is truly heart breaking. The only thing that’s different is that Leo had Jackson. Hope was all alone.

After reading this book I had no words, I was speechless, I still kind of am even writing my review. There is so much that I want to say about this but then again I don’t because I don’t want to give away any spoilers because of how fantastic this is.

  1. […] February 2, 2019 The journey that began in top-rated, best-selling Bright Side, continues … This is the story of Gus. Losing himself. Finding himself. And healing along the way. “ … but the honest-to-God truth is I don’t even know how to function anymore. Bright Side wasn’t only my best friend; she was like my other half … the other half of my brain, the other half of my conscience, the other half of my sense of humor, the other half of my creativity, the other half of my heart. How do you go back to doing what you did before, when half of you is gone forever?” Amazon / Goodreads / My Review Eighteen-year-old Brenna Whit is entering college as a freshman and starting to meet new people, but she hides a dark secret. Because of an accident that happened three years ago, her spirit wanders the Fade whenever she falls asleep. It’s something she wants to keep hidden from the world, but when she sees someone watching her in spirit form, she fears the secret’s out. With new friends, possibly new enemies, school, and a new crush, Brenna has too much to worry about for just her freshman year of college. Amazon / Goodreads / My Review Victoria Parker knew her dad’s behavior toward her was a little unusual, but she convinced herself everything was fine—until she found herself locked out of the house at 3:00 a.m., surrounded by flashing police lights. Now, dumped into a crowded, chaotic foster home, Victoria has to tiptoe around her domineering foster mother, get through senior year at a new school, and somehow salvage her college dreams . . . all while keeping her past hidden. But some secrets won’t stay buried—especially when unwanted memories make Victoria freeze up at random moments and nightmares disrupt her sleep. Even worse, she can’t stop worrying about her stepsister Sarah, left behind with her father. All she wants is to move forward, but how do you focus on the future when the past won’t leave you alone? Amazon / Goodreads / My Reviews “A heartwarming, sparkling romantic comedy about what happens when what your heart wants and what your parents want don’t match…Melissa de la Cruz enchants and delights in her usual style. Completely unputdownable!” —Sandhya Menon, New York Times bestselling author of When Dimple Met Rishi“A refreshingly modern love story, 29 Dates serves up a funny and heartfelt rom-com about finding love and figuring out life on your own terms.” —Maurene Goo, author of I Believe in a Thing Called Love and The Way You Make Me FeelHow many dates will it take to find The One?Jisu’s traditional South Korean parents are concerned by what they see as her lack of attention to her schoolwork and her future. Working with Seoul’s premiere matchmaker to find the right boyfriend is one step toward ensuring Jisu’s success, and going on the recommended dates is Jisu’s compromise to please her parents while finding space to figure out her own dreams. But when she flubs a test then skips out on a date to spend time with friends, her fed-up parents shock her by shipping her off to a private school in San Francisco. Where she’ll have the opportunity to shine academically—and be set up on more dates!Navigating her host family, her new city and school, and more dates, Jisu finds comfort in taking the photographs that populate her ever-growing social media account. Soon attention from two very different boys sends Jisu into a tailspin of soul-searching. As her passion for photography lights her on fire, does she even want to find The One? And what if her One isn’t parent and matchmaker approved?  Amazon / Goodreads / My Review Ari When you’re young you think you know it all. I was fortunate enough to live in a world where poverty was just something I’d heard of, but never experienced. Until, I took a chance on the boy from the wrong side of the tracks. The chemistry undeniable. Our worlds collided and I fell hard, we both did. I needed him to stay and when he didn’t, it broke my heart. So I grew up and moved on. I didn’t know who I was back then, or what I was up against. But I do now. I won’t make the same mistakes. Torren I made mistakes, I thought I knew what I was doing. Turns out sometimes loyalty and stupidity go hand in hand. I took the one thing I needed most and I pushed her away with my actions. Sent her running in the opposite direction is more like it. When fate brings us together again, I desperately want to make things right, prove to her that I’m not that guy anymore. Time has done nothing to put out the fire between us, but she has no plans to let me be a part of her future. I’m about to change that. Amazon / Goodreads / My Review BiancaPretty things don’t distract me. In my line of work, a distraction will get you caught. Or in my case, blackmailed. But this isn’t the only time I’ve been hustled, and soon Connor Hayes will learn that men are only pawns in my end game. I don’t love. I hate. Even a pretty boy like him. HayesTwo wrongs don’t make a right. Except when they are five-foot-seven and hotter than my exhaust pipe. So, I blackmailed her. It was either that or turn her in. And if anyone was going to put her in handcuffs, it was going to be me. Bianca Morgan stole the only woman I’ve ever loved. It’s only fair she replace her. Amazon / Goodreads / My Review Beth’s life hasn’t been the same since her sister died. Her parents try to lock her down, believing they can keep her safe by monitoring her every move. When Beth sneaks out to a party one night and meets the new guy in town, Chase, she’s thrilled to make a secret friend. It seems a small thing, just for her.Only Beth doesn’t know how big her secret really is…Fresh out of juvie and determined to start his life over, Chase has demons to face and much to atone for, including his part in the night Beth’s sister died. Beth, who has more reason than anyone to despise him, is willing to give him a second chance. A forbidden romance is the last thing either of them planned for senior year, but the more time they spend together, the deeper their feelings get.Now Beth has a choice to make—follow the rules, or risk tearing everything apart…again.Amazon / Goodreads / My Review Jesse Lachlin is cursed. So the town folklore says, but while Jesse’s had his fair share of tragedy, the only curse he believes is in his grandmother’s will: in order to inherit his family farm he must win the approval of his childhood best friend, the girl he froze out his freshman year, Scarlett Copeland.Scarlett Copeland is psychic.Glory Gardner tells Scarlett she has hidden psychic abilities, but Scarlett thinks Glory is delusional. What is real is Scarlett’s father’s irrational fears, controlling attitude, and the dark secrets at home. Scarlett may have a way to escape, but there’s a hitch: she’ll have to rely on the one person she used to trust, the same boy who broke her heart, Jesse Lachlin. Each midnight meeting pushes Jesse and Scarlett to confront their secrets and their feelings for each other. But as love blooms, the curse rears its ugly head… Amazon / Goodreads / My Review We thought the games were over…but they’ve only just begun. She was the puppet. He pulled the strings. Now the death toll is rising, what could this mean?It was all a game. Of feelings. Of pain.Death is just an illusion, or so they say. She was just a pawn on a piece of his demented board. But there’s only one question left to settle the score…Can dead people really stay dead?Book two in the Chaos Series. MUST be read after book one.Warning: There is a cliffhanger. Love and Chaos will be the final for Creed and Sophia, but the rest of the series will continue on with books for the other characters. Amazon / Goodreads / My Review Ramsey Badd, last of the triplets— the wild man. An explorer, hunter, outdoorsman, and avowed, die-hard bachelor, Ramsey has watched his brothers fall one by one for Alaskan beauties. He’s determined to resist. So is she—and she’s even wilder than he is.  Amazon / Goodreads / My Review Lies. Betrayal. Two hearts broken. One on the path of revenge.
