Summary:
Bilbo Baggins is a hobbit who enjoys a comfortable, unambitious life, rarely traveling further than the pantry of his hobbit-hole in Bag End. But his contentment is disturbed when the wizard, Gandalf, and a company of thirteen dwarves arrive on his doorstep one day to whisk him away on an unexpected journey ‘there and back again’. They have a plot to raid the treasure hoard of Smaug the Magnificent, a large and very dangerous dragon.
My Thoughts:
I have watched this movie countless times because I love it so much. So, I thought that I would give the book ago and see if I felt the same. I feel like there isn’t anything that I can say about this other then its amazing to see the adventures that Bilbo goes on with his friends. Tolkien did an outstanding job writing this book, the movies are just as phenomenal. I’m not sure where he came up with the idea or the thoughts to come up with this, but I don’t think that I can say enough amazing things about it.
By now lots of people have read it or watched the movies and there is the odd person that doesn’t like it but a lot of people do enjoy it. I mean there’s fandoms and people that cosplay into the characters from the movie which I find amazing that an author has made something so outstanding that there are people that cosplay into it.
This is a book that everyone should read. Or at least watch the movie so that you can be part of the fandom as well.
