Summary:
RYDER: You are the most
beautiful woman I’ve ever seen, Laurel. And if that’s all of you I ever get to
see, I’ll be the luckiest man in the world for having seen it.
I swallow hard. He wasn’t supposed to make it sweet. He was
supposed to leave it dirty and inappropriate, so I could tell myself all he
wanted was sex. That all he cared about was getting me naked, or if not that,
then at least seeing me naked.
Instead, he turned it sweet. And I couldn’t tell myself any
lies to keep me on my high horse.
My Thoughts:
Holy fuck balls. As soon as I noticed this was on my kindle I
dropped everything to read this. (no joke) It took me till the wee hours in the
morning because I had to finish it, I couldn’t go to sleep because I had to
know what was going to happen. Especially when Paul ( Laurel’s ex husband )said
he was going to prove his love to Laurel. Even though she is in another
relationship with Ryder and he’s sexy! I need to find me a man like him.
Laurel was previously married to a guy named Paul they had a
son named Nate who’s 9. There marriage didn’t work out for certain reasons.
Nate reminds me of my daughter, they have a similar personality.
Ryder was previously married as well. His ex wife was not the
greatest person because she was always drinking. She had gone into rehab and
Ryder stood by her even when he knew he should have left. Until one day she
sent him divorce papers.
Ryder and Laurel previously dated and the all of a sudden he
ghosted her. She was completely confused and wanted to know why and forget all
about him. One night she goes out to a bar with her girls and has a few drinks
and they convince her that she should go find out why so that she will stop
wondering. When she gets to the bar Ryder is there and she sees him and is
about to walk toward him when this guy comes an intervenes and try’s to pick
her up. Ryder comes to save her (swoon) They go back to his table and have some
drinks and they get talking and it turns into a date which I loved. There
relationship was off to a rocky star but once they met at the bar things really
picked up for them and I enjoyed there journey together. I loved the texts that
they sent to one another it’s completely adorable.
In the end we get to see Nova’s story begin and I am super
excited to see her back story because of the way she was in this book.
My favourite quotes
Nate makes a face “ I don’t like coffee,” he says. “Mom let
me try it one time, and it tasted like poopy dirt mixed with barf.”
“I’m a coffee snob” – Ryder.
