Summary:

So says seventeen-year-old Zac Meier during a long, grueling leukemia treatment in Perth, Australia. A loud blast of Lady Gaga alerts him to the presence of Mia, the angry, not-at-all-stoic cancer patient in the room next door. Once released, the two near-strangers can’t forget each other, even as they desperately try to resume normal lives. The story of their mysterious connection drives this unflinchingly tough, tender novel told in two voices.

My thoughts:

I wanted to read this book because I heard that there was going to be a tv show about it, so I thought I would check out the book. I was disappointed with the book. I had high hopes for it because everyone that has read it compared to The Fault In Our Stars and I absolutely loved that book. This one on the other hand…. not so much.

I felt like this book was lacking something. I didn’t really connect with it, although I did enjoy it if that makes any sense.

I do like the way that this is written.

I loved Zac/Helga’s character, you couldn’t help but fall in love with him. He’s such a sweetheart. Mia on the other hand was kind of a bitch. She seemed more like a child then a teenager. I couldn’t get past that with her.

This is a short review because I don’t know what else to say, other than…. if you liked TFIOS then there’s a chance that you may enjoy this one but I doubt it IMO.
