When I first read this title, I thought of the Kelly Clarkson song. And even though there are other songs in the story I kept going back to that one. It might be a little weird but I thought that it was funny.
*In a well ordered universe*
This was the first book that I have read by Morgan Matson and I must say that I really enjoyed it. I just don’t get the hype that’s behind it. So maybe I’m missing something? At first, I thought that her friend had died and that’s why she left her a letter and a list of things that she wanted her to do to get out of her comfort zone. There was skinny dipping, hug a Jamie, steel something, the list goes on and on.
While Emily must complete the tasks that her friend has left her you can tell that she’s maturing. She’s not the shy girl that Slone as left her. Emily and Slone are always together there a package deal. Slone is the outgoing friend and Emily is the shy one but you can tell they make the perfect pair. Slone often tells Emily that she needs to break out of her shell (that’s why she left her a list) and that she needs to stop being afraid and she does exactly that. This list is something that maybe all friends should make for one another but don’t have anything criminal on it. It will get you to explore new things an maybe become a new version of yourself that you enjoy more than the old you. I’m not saying that the old you is bad, I’m just saying that its good to step out of your comfort zone once and a while because the world is full of endless possibilities.
Since Slone had left Emily had made friends with Frank who went to school with Emily and he is a sweet and caring guy, I love his relationship with Emily. Collins also went to school with Emily and he is a funny guy that I think that this book needed. Dawn was someone that Emily had met by chance because she worked at the pizza place next to the ice cream place where Emily worked. Dawn was out on a pizza delivery when she had come back early and seen her boyfriend and best friend making out in the store she ran out and ended up the ice-cream place and talked to Emily about what happened and that’s how they became friends but near the end of the story there’s something that happens that becomes in the way of there friend ship an I don’t think that her and Dawn will make up sadly but I really do hope that they will.
I give this book 3/5 stars
