So with everything that is going on in Orlando I remembered that I had a book by Lauren Myracle.
It has to do with Cat and Patrick there childhood best friends and Patrick is gay. Later on in the story they have a falling out after Cat goes through a life changing event. She then secluded her self from everyone even Patrick. Then Patrick gets viciously attacked in a hate crime. Cat then decided to take it upon her self to find out what really happened to Patrick.

I found that Shine is a really powerful story and it’s one I will not forget.
